At GRB, we specialize in optimizing the performance and reliability of field equipment through meticulous installation and configuration of power supply cables for switches and radios. Here's a comprehensive guide to ensure seamless operations at your site.
Power Supply Cables: Switch
Within our harness master kits for parcel shelves, each kit includes a switch power cable featuring an M16 connector to a 4-pin female connector. The required pin-out is as follows:
Pin 1: Blue (positive)
Pin 2: Black (positive)
Pin 3: White (negative)
Pin 4: Brown (negative)
Upon powering up, indicator lights will display, and a link light on GE-1 will illuminate if the switch is connected to a radio via Ethernet. It's crucial that both the switch and radio are powered through the battery feed, remain operational with the ignition on, stay powered after the ignition is off, and turn off with the battery isolator.
Ports 6 and 7 will only activate after configuration by the CISCO technology team, while Port 8 will light up when a device is connected to the VIMS port and properly configured.
Power Supply Cables: Radio
For radio installations, the harness master kits include a radio power cable with an M12 connector to a 4-pin mini-female connector. After cutting off the mini connector, attach a DT 4-pin female Deutsch connector, following this pin-out:
Pin 1: Blue (negative)
Pin 2: Black (negative)
Pin 3: White (positive)
Pin 4: Brown (positive)
Upon powering the radio, an indicator light will display the following:
Pink: Initial startup
Green: Connected to one peer
Blue: Connected to multiple peers
M12 4-way D-coded Pinout
All radios and switches at GRB are connected via the GE-1 port of the switch and the POE IN port of the radio. For dozers, the specific port assignments are:
Port 6: G610
Port 7: VIMS
Port 8: VIMS service port
Pre-made cables are used, but the current stock for dozers has been fully utilized. Below is the M12 connection and RJ45 pin-out:
M12 to RJ45 Pin-Out Configuration:
Pin 1: Orange/White
Pin 2: Green/White
Pin 3: Orange
Pin 4: Green
Pin 5: Blue/White
Pin 6: Green
Pin 7: Brown/White
Pin 8: Brown
When utilizing only four wires, ensure the 8-way connector pinout is adhered to for optimal functionality.
